What We Offer

Spider Plant 'Bonnie' (3", 4", 6", and 8" Pots available)

The Spider plant is a flowering perennial native to tropical South Africa. The leaves of the spider plant are thin ribbon-like strands which end in a point and grow upward and bend downward, giving it the look of a spider. The Spider plant produces small white flowers that grow along a long stalk independent of the leaves of the spider plant. Also known for their air-purifying qualities and for being pet-friendly, the spider plant is a great companion to any household or office.

Why Choose a Bonnie Spider Plant

  • Unique Curly Foliage: Unlike traditional straight-leaved spider plants, 'Bonnie' boasts leaves that beautifully curl and twist, creating a denser, more intriguing texture and a truly distinctive look.
  • Vibrant Variegation: Its striking green leaves with a creamy white stripe down the center provide bright, cheerful color year-round, brightening up any corner of your home.
  • Air-Purifying Powerhouse: Like all Spider Plants, 'Bonnie' is a champion at cleaning indoor air, helping to remove common toxins and contributing to a healthier living environment.
  • Incredibly Easy to Grow: Often recommended for beginners, the Bonnie Spider Plant is wonderfully forgiving. It tolerates a range of conditions, bouncing back quickly from neglect and thriving with minimal fuss.
  • Prolific 'Spiderettes': Watch as your plant produces adorable 'spiderettes' (baby plants) on long trailing stems, perfect for propagating and sharing with friends and family.
  • Versatile & Charming Display: Ideal for hanging baskets where its curly leaves and trailing babies can truly shine, but also lovely on shelves, desks, or plant stands.
  • Healthy, Nursery-Grown Quality: House Plant Shop is dedicated to providing robust, well-rooted Bonnie Spider Plants. We ensure they arrive healthy and ready to flourish.

Planting & Care Guide

Light

Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light, but its variegation might become less pronounced. Avoid direct, harsh sunlight, which can scorch its leaves.

Watering

Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. If you notice brown tips, it might be due to chemicals in tap water; consider using filtered water or rainwater.

Soil

Use a well-draining, all-purpose potting mix.

Temperature

Prefers average room temperatures, between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Protect it from cold drafts.

Humidity

Tolerates average household humidity but appreciates higher humidity.

Fertilizing

Feed lightly with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the spring and summer growing seasons. Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter.

Propagation

Easily propagated by simply rooting the 'spiderettes' in water or directly in soil.
