About Playlab

After founder Carrie Shoup became a mother, she realized how isolating the experience could be. Especially after visiting other playspaces with her 18 month old daughter, and finding they weren't designed for that age range. With her extensive history in education, she founded the original Playlab in 2017, as a place where parents and young children can feel supported and play, socialize, and learn.  The Eagle Rock location opened in 2019, and the Hollywood location opened in July 2025.

Playlab, a creative playspace for infants and young children, specializes in providing safe, varied environments for young children to experiment, explore and socialize.
