Advanced Technology
Treatments at Renew Medical Center use the Candela YAG laser:
- Single-wavelength Nd:YAG (1064 nm). Penetrates deeper than shorter-wavelength lasers and is absorbed less by surface pigment, which is why it’s the wavelength of choice for darker skin tones.
- DCD cryogen cooling. A quick cooling burst before each pulse protects the outer skin layer and helps keep the session comfortable.
- Six sessions. A typical laser hair-removal course runs 6–8 sessions to catch each follicle during its active growth phase.

How It Works
FAQs
How many sessions are typically needed?
Most people need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. This deal includes 6.
Why are multiple sessions needed?
Lasers only work on hair that’s actively growing. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions catch each follicle when it’s in the active phase.
Is the Candela YAG safe for all skin types?
The Candela Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) is rated for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I-VI) and is one of the safer wavelengths for darker tones thanks to its deeper penetration and lower melanin absorption. Suitability is confirmed at your consultation.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe it as a light rubber-band snap. Built-in DCD cryogen cooling on the handpiece helps keep treatments comfortable.
How long do results last?
Results are long-lasting. Individual outcomes vary by hair color, thickness, and hormonal factors. Touch-up sessions may be recommended over time.
What areas can be treated?
