If you have young children or want a relaxed, scenic experience, the Upper New River Float Trip is ideal — it's beginner-friendly and open to ages 6 and up. The Lower New River is River Expeditions' signature trip and a great choice for first-time whitewater rafters ages 12 and up. The Lower Gauley is best for those who have rafted before and want a more intense challenge — it runs September through October only.
What's included in the camping (site only) stay?
The deal includes 2 nights of campsite-only lodging. You'll need to bring your own tent, bedding, and camping supplies. Campsites feature picnic tables and fire rings and are pet-friendly. The campground provides easy walking access to showers, restrooms, the dining area, pool, hot tub, and the resort's main facilities.
What equipment do I need to bring?
All necessary rafting equipment is provided by River Expeditions — your guide will have everything you need for the water. For camping, bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and personal gear. Gratuity for guides is not included in the deal and is appreciated separately.
Can I bring my pet?
