Swing Dance Classes for two, 4 beginner classes, one hour once a week, includes two Saturday night dance events: Share the joy of learning swing dance together in an engaging class environment.
All dancers are encouraged to dance with other dancers during the lesson so as to experience different styles of lead and follow. Instructors will call for rotation of dancers during the lesson or you may remain with your partner if desired.
You may begin on any Thursday as basics are covered initially, new moves are then introduced weekly.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, preferably with leather or smooth soles to slide easily on the floors.
You may wish to bring a water bottle. Note that this a family environment which customarily hosts ages 18 and older. Meadian age is about 35. No alcohol or food is allowed.
Also included in this package is entry to our social dances held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 8pm to 10:30pm One dance session will host a Swing Band, and a DJ will provide swing music at the other dance.
Your Groupon only allows entry to the 4 consecutive Beginner Classes and two dances. If you wish to participate in any other advanced classes offered, you will need to pay the standard $15 per class to participate.

About San Antonio Swing Dance Society
San Antonio Swing Dance Society has operated since 1999. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Our motto, "Preserving America's Swing Era". Our goal is to educate the public in a historical style of dance which began in the 1920's in Harlem. Likewise, SASDS offers a style of music from the 30"s through the 40"s which accompanies the style of dance in that period. Some of the music with be recordings from band leaders of that period or played by current Swing Bands. Our instructors are from the San Antonio area and most often started as dance students with SASDS. Several have attended Swing Dance events and classes nationwide. On occasion we offer workshops with instructors from across Texas and the US.
