What once was an abandoned building in San Diego's Chinatown now is a state-of-the-art multi-site museum that plays a crucial role in the local cultural life. Established in 1996, San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is on a mission to promote and preserve the Chinese art and culture as well as the contribution of Chinese Americans.
