What to Expect

Guests begin their culinary adventure in Downtown Raleigh, a surprisingly intimate and richly fed city. The guided walking tour starts from Moore Square, navigating through the old commercial grid and into the historic Warehouse District, where former red brick buildings now host a vibrant food scene. As they stroll beneath the shade of ancient oak trees, visitors delve into the city's 1792 plan and its evolving culinary landscape, immersing themselves in local architecture and atmosphere.

The journey unfolds across five unique tasting stops, each representing a different culinary tradition. Participants will savor a steamed Cantonese barbecue pork bun in a multi-concept venue combining a brewery, bookshop, and flower stall. They will then delight in a rich Lebanese spread, featuring authentic hummus, baba ghanouj, and shawarma, crafted from family recipes passed down over a century. The tour culminates with a taste of traditional Eastern North Carolina whole-hog barbecue, finely chopped and sharpened with vinegar, and concludes with a refined tasting of three distinct, bean-to-bar chocolates in a beautifully converted 1912 railway depot.
