Canlis menu is impressive with amuse bouche and dungenous crab cake appetizers. Muscovy Duck dry aged for 14 days roasted whole. The breast is whole and is dressed with orange chutney, fennel and pearl onion brulee. Wagyu Kobe-style mouth watering beef filet mignon. If you fancy, leave it to the chef with the Chef’s tasting menu $125 pp for a seven course menu showcasing Canlis’ most inventive and refined cuisine.
Westward & Little Gull
Westward has a fabulous patio seating. Their menu is Northwest seafood focused with Greek Mediterranean flavor profiles. Chef Zoi Antonitsas uses a lot of water inspired dishes that consists of grilled oil packed Spanish Sardines, Mediterranen mussels, Manila clam dip and salmon gravlas tartine. The atmosphere is casual and by the water with a sixty foot dock.
Le Pichet
Sometimes you want to take you date to a superbly delicious but old school French bistro. Le Pichet is the perfect place to throw back a few drinks, kick back and enjoy some housemade charcuterie plate with artisan cheeses, pork pate, and chicken liver terrine. We recommend that intimate booth table by the window. Price ranges from $11 to $19 won’t break the bank either.
Restaurant Marron
A new up and coming fine dining restaurant without the tablecloths and stuffiness. Mismatched cutlery and vintage French pop music line the dining space. The staff are welcoming and incredibly friendly. Chef Eric Sakai changes half the menu daily may have you wondering why you even bothered looking at the menu online. Instead, go grab your sweetheart and be prepared to enjoy a 3 hour Carte Blanche 3 hour dinner over eight to ten courses for $108 to $128. If you prefer a short meal so you two can head of dancing consider the Haute Cuisine Prix Fixe menu plus dessert for #39. A bonus? They serve Blue Bottle Coffee from Oakland.
Altura Restaurant
Altura Restaurant offers and Italian menu with natural bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Wild foraged products, local seafood and raised meats and vegetables. Chef Nathan Lockwood and his team are serious about delivering masterfully crafted food and ingredients to your table. The dishes are impeccable. The $137 Tasting Menu is almost a must to sample five main entrees with a series of amuse bouche and appetizers you do not want to miss out. Their Papardelle pasta and risotto are amazing! So is their Corn Panna Cotta with truffles. They say, the key to the women’s heart is good food. Believe me. It is true.
Bannister
Bannister is newly opened next to Tougo Coffee’s by owner Brian Wells. Bannister’s menu highlights charcuterie, cheese, oysters and wine bar from Chef Rebecca Cooley and Chef Kathryn Padberg. Spend an evening here over small bites of oysters, Mediterranean dishes such as terrines, pickled and cured goods. Bannister is all about sharing and tasting. Afterwards, take your next door to the New City Theater for a play. Then jump over to Restaurant Roux for a night cap rendezvous.
Restaurant Roux
Craving for Southern food and French creole inspired cuisine. Roux is a spin off from Matt Lewis’ truck Where Ya At Matt? The food is incredible with bold flavors, unique and memorable. You two will be reminiscing over the delicious meal you both shared. The restaurant itself is laid-back, open bar concept with plenty of booth seating along the walls. We recommend sharing lots: Crispy pig ear with blue cheese and buffalo sauce, Fried gizzards, Louisiana Frog Legs, and Blackened Cod to name a few. Throw back a mint Julep and some Bourbon. Restaurant Roux opens late night.
Sitka & Spruce
Sitka & Spruce is a Pacific Northwest Restaurant in Capitol Hill. Option for a private room upstairs if you are planning something intimate ex. Wedding proposal. The front of house and staff are more than happy to help execute this romantic moment. The restaurant itself is in the name: raw timber. Adored with fresh flowers, exposed bricks and candles. Sitka & Spruce is the latest addition to Seattle’s James Beard Award winners. I could eat wood fire sourdough bread and hone panna cotta all day here. Everything here is delicious and very fresh. If you asked the same question perhaps you would get the same answer.
