There was a group of school children at the museum the day I was there, about middle school age. They were mostly Hispanic, and the art should have been relevant to them. But the teacher and/or museum staff did little to interpret the art. Some of the pieces represented struggle and discrimination, common themes at that age. Unless we do a better job engaging kids in art and it's meaning, it will not receive any importance in our schools. That's a pity. It seems kind of important to your mission. I'm not an artist at all, and I'm not Hispanic, but our world would be a lot uglier without art and music. You need to work on your school program.
