About Diamond Hill Mine

Diamond Hill Mine sets visitors loose on 5 to 6 acres of dumps and spoil piles, challenging them to unearth the property's cache of quartz crystals and pieces of amethyst. During outings, explorers use their own rakes, shovels, and tools while excavating the land, or while trying to find un-dug veins, where some crystals have gone undisturbed for more than 400 million years. Every piece found on the property is authentic, meaning the mine hasn't been planted with artificial crystals or with forgotten hidden engagement rings.

Take extra water! Plenty of quartz and a bit of amethyst. Even found an aquamarine about as big as my thumbnail. Good luck!

It's a very good place when the weather is nice, but not so much when it's above 90.

If hot, wear white. Bring drinking water & a picnic lunch. An umbrella for shade whole digging. Large area to dig in, plan to stay awhile. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent experience! Be sure to bring something to dig with and a bucket you can put your rocks in. Of course you will also need water to drink and sunscreen if you get sunburned easily!

It was fun! Don't judge till you get home - we got a lot of rocks but didn't know if we had many crystals, but when we got home and washed all the dirt off, we discovered we had tons of crystals! Great time was had by all!
