Angelina Ristorante opened its doors in 1988 as a culinary homage to cofounder Nunzio Fresta's Italian grandmother. Within its colorful, chandelier-illuminated interior, executive chef Fred Ramos employs experience at top-notch Chicago eateries such as Room21 and Gioco to devise trattoria-style dishes draped in zesty sauces and seasonal ingredients. Choice cuts of duck breast, veal, and beef shoulder mingle with sides of creamy polenta or whipped potatoes, and homemade morsels of gnocchi and ravioli are rolled by hand before being draped in cheese- and wine-based sauces.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place! We went for his birthday last night and had a wonderful time. It's so cozy or should I say was cozy
as they have the tables social distanced for Covid. The food and service are great!

The last time I patronized this restaurant was 30 years ago so I thought it was time to return. The place is very casual—wait staff in shorts and a t-shirt. I still prefer to dress up especially on my birthday. Other patrons were in shorts and tipped t-shirts so don’t overdress. While the menu is very abbreviated, it did have some of their better selling items and the wine list was ok.
