Things work a bit differently at Emporium Arcade Bar, where bartenders are usually the ones who have a hard time getting their guests’ attention. That’s because most eyes stay glued to the screens of the 40+ classic arcade games that line the bar’s wood-paneled walls. Players show off their dunking skills on NBA Jam: Tournament Edition, take aim at Duck Hunt, vanquish foes in rounds of Mortal Kombat, or reflect on print media’s decline while setting bittersweet high scores in Paperboy. Each game costs one 25-cent token, which guests can obtain at one of Emporium's in-house change machines.

Video games aren’t the only attraction, however, as the bar stocks 24 rotating craft beers from featured Midwestern breweries. Vodka, rum, gin, and more than 50 whiskeys round out the extensive liquor list, which complements colorfully named bar cuisine such as Gunslinger Beef Jerky and Bee's Knees Nuts.
