About Clay Cafe Co.

When owner Julie Byrne founded Clay Café in 1996, she wanted to establish a cozy, unpretentious environment where families could spend quality time pottery-painting and embarking on other art projects. Describing what she envisioned to the Columbus Dispatch, Byrne stated, “We kind of wanted a grandma kitchen—something homey.” At Clay Café, visitors might forget they’re not relaxing in their own homes amid the studio’s popular mismatched chairs and flower tablecloths.

We love this place! A blank ceramic can be kind of daunting, but the staff is always incredibly helpful and will provide a lot of ideas. Every time we go, they have a different selection of pieces, so I haven't gotten tired of anything yet!

We had a girls night at Clay Café and it was a lot of fun. You can bring in your own beverages and snacks which is nice. The staff is very helpful and offers plenty of instructions for new painters.

So much fun!!!! I have a hard time making decisions so come up with a few ideas before heading over! The ladies at the table next time came prepared with pictures of dishes and cookie jars they wanted to replicate and their stuff was amazing! Great for kids and adults alike!

If you go on Fridays it's adult paint free night, so you only have to pay the price of your piece, not the $8 painting fee they normally charge you too.
