About Wings To Fly

Wings to Fly students take in a windswept expanse of green below and blue above as they fly—not in a plane—but while suspended from a simple harness and glider. Whether they're new to hang gliding and paragliding or are seasoned gravity defiers, they experience the thrill of the flight while remaining in the safe hands of experienced instructor John Alden. All students have a ground school before flying begins. Most students are towed aloft by a stationary winch staying low. And as their confidence increases, so does their altitude. From his seat in the towing system, he propels new gliders through the air, where they enjoy the view, test their new skills, and confuse spectating birds.
