The Claflin-Gerrish-Richards house is wonderfully interesting and the toys and trains are a delight.

The train room is really great, my boys loved it. Definitely take advantage of the tour of the historical house connected to the museum. Good for an afternoon visit, can tour the museum pretty quickly!

Plan to spend at least 1 1/2 hours. Different kids (and kids at heart) will like different things, so with more than one child, two adults is probably better. Some won't get enough of the doll, dollhouse, and miniatures collections. Some won't get enough of the model train layouts. Some will want to spend a lot of time with the puzzles, games, and other activities in the interactive room. To the museum: My granddaughter happens to own the American Girl doll, Josefina. She immediately spotted that the tag identifying that doll in the exhibit spells the name incorrectly ("ph" instead of "f"). Perhaps that should be corrected. And why is she unclothed?

Good for both girls and boys. When you go there also eat at the Wenham Tea House across the street.

Great for kids. I wasn't sure about it but we ended up spending about 3 hours there. My kids loved playing dress up as well and using the scavenger hunt cards.
