About Art Classes by Adam Reeder Folsom

Using his extensive background in professional portraiture and bronze sculpture, artist Adam Reeder teaches pupils of all ages how to draw and sculpt compelling pieces. A 2009 graduate of San Francisco's Academy of Art, Reeder has gained the attention of audiences and art critics for his Greek-inspired sculptures, which accurately depict the human body but also critique modern society. By pairing Atlas with an Earth-sized iPod and substituting Zeus's lightning bolt with an iPhone, he puts a current twist on the conventions of classical sculpture, suggesting that Apple products have finally surpassed Atari’s stranglehold on Western culture.

My 8 yr old granddaughter really enjoyed the class. Adam is a good instructor and you can tell he enjoys working with children. The class made clay animal sculptures and painted them.u

A good 1st time introduction working with clay. Adam is patient, but needs to spend less time on his cell phone and more time focused on helping and instructing his young students. He could use a full-time helper to assist him. His daughter was there, but was focused on her own projects. I didn't know what to expect, but felt it was worthwhile for the children. I recommend the parents stay with their kids instead of dropping them off and leaving the premises.
