Worth visiting!

My uncle served on the Battleship Texas in the Pacific during WW II...I took my 5 year old grandson... It was the first time either of us had been on the ship... I had wanted to walk the deck since I was his age... What an experience...He wanted to see what was down every ladder...crank every gun...it was a memory we will share forever!!! Bring walking shoes Wear comfortable clothes

Make sure to go in decent weather since you'll be walking around above deck half the time.

Bring a camera with a Flash. Go into the belly of the beast. Down to the engine room. Level 2 is very interesting with all the departments. Amazing what kind of a War Machine from 1914 this was and still could be.

You will enjoy this! While you are there, you might also plan on going across the street to the San Jacinto Monument . Wear comfortable shoes. :-)

There are employees of the parks and recreation department walking throughout the ship with lots of interesting information to share. If you make friends with one of them, they can turn your self-guided tour into a much more exciting trip!
