In 2006, Craig Pinkley traveled to Napa Valley. It started as a business trip, but after a VIP tour of an established winery and a symphony of glass clinks, Pinkley's adventure ended with a career wakeup call. Grapes were his passion, so he set out to make them his coworkers.
Pinkley studied every aspect of wine—"from land, to vine, to vinification"—before deciding on Pilot Knob Vineyard's locale, where rainfall drains ideally and soil presents a balanced mix of nutrients. Spanning 42 acres and perched on a ridge overlooking Texas hill country, Pilot Knob takes its name from an extinct volcano nearby and serves as a romantic location for weddings and events. At Pilot Knob's tasting room in Taylor, TX, guests can sample the vineyard's wines amid the quaint shops and beautiful historic buildings of downtown Taylor.

My husband and I loved this place! What you get is great for the price. The brewery atmosphere was fantastic and there was a large selection of beers to choose from. We had the spicy pizza (can't remember the name) and it was delicious. The winery next door was cute and quaint. The lady who served us was sweet and chatted with us the whole time. I look forward to going again with friends and family!

Always a great time. The staff is always friendly. The picnic is delicious and so is the wine. Will definitely go again.

Great afternoon drive to enjoy wonderful wine and snacks and hospitality. Quiet place with Hawk circling overhead and doing wind dance for entertainment. Wishing this Vineyard all the Best!

The visit is always enjoyable and relaxing. The picnic is delicious and varied. We try a different wine each time we go. This is somewhere between a semi-annual and annual outing often with friends. Do try it if you Hanover not yet done so!

My husband and I totally loved our beer/wine tasting experience! The bartender and the lady wine expert were very friendly at both places. We also enjoyed the one man guitarist at the brewery and the karaoke singers at the winery. We look forward to visiting both places again.

Truly enjoyed the picnic for 2. Excellent service, tasting, and quaint environment. A romantic treat for couples.
