Staff was really nice, tour was great and scenic. Our guide was very helpful and informative along the way. We went in June and didn't see many animals like we had hoped, but weather was perfect and we enjoyed being in a small group.

Excellent. Staff great. Slow horses but a wonderful 2 hours of outdoor fun on a horse. Good for the inexperienced rider. We will do it again.

Perfect for adults and little kids. Our guide was very sweet and took great care of our children, especially when they got a little nervous!

We had an amazing ride through the mountains at an incredible price. Check in was very easy. Our guide was very helpful with the horses during the ride and knowledge about the area. If you do the morning ride wear pants. It was pretty brisk!

My son and I were excited to be going horseback riding while we were in Colorado. We saw that Sombrero had a coupon available so we chose to go there. Our guide Danielle was excellent with the first time rider and the trail up the mountain was exciting. Our horses were matched with experience in mind.

My boyfriend and I had such a great experience! Our guide was the sweetest girl ever, and very knowledgeable about the area and of the horses. This was my boyfriends first time riding a horse (he’s 21), and he said it was something he would love to do again. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone visiting or living in the area.

From Our Editors

  • How it all started: when 11 year old Rex Walker visited Colorado for the first time and knew he'd come back to build his dream ranch
  • When it all started: It would be over a decade until Rex fulfilled his childhood dream, but in 1958, along with his brother-in-law Pat, they bought 16 horses and the rest is history.
  • What you will find at Sombrero: After 50 years in the business, the Walker family has fine tuned their experiences, accommodating riders of all levels with trail ride around pristine lakes and majestic mountains that last from one to eight hours.
