About Desert Spirits Aviation

David Guy is a certified flight instructor, but that doesn't begin to describe his depth of experience with aircrafts. Before retiring, he served in the Air Force as a C-130 flight engineer, logging more than 5,000 hours as an engineer and 1,000 as a pilot. Today, he puts this background to daily use at Desert Spirits Aviation, an FAA-certified flight school operating out of Marana Regional Airfield. He instructs students aboard his trusty1970 Piper Cherokee 140C aircraft, overseeing their advancement from aeronautical novices to recreational, commercial, and private pilot licenses.

Bought a lesson and ride for two for my husband's birthday. We had such a great time, we bought a lesson for my dad. The owner/pilot is a fantastic teacher, who makes you feel confident and at ease during your first flight. My husband and dad really enjoyed their lessons, both said they would fly with Desert Spirits Aviation again.

Wonderful flight experience. David, owner and instructor, is friendly, professional and knows his stuff! He's truly passionate about flying and tries to impart this on his passengers. On the Discovery Flight, you're able to fly pretty much wherever you want, provided it fits within the time frame and is not a closed airspace area. Also, David is not a stickler about the amount of time up in the air. A must try for anyone wanting to see the beauty of the Tucson area in a whole new way!

Great aviation. Was very comfortable with the instructor. Very easy to work with
