Make it a complete day downtown with Art Festival then concert dinner and spend night at Hampton Inn Beale Street

Last year's experience was great, however we were rained out and the venue was changed to the New Daisy. Not a good experience- the place was dirty and "dingy"- not the outdoor experience we panned for. The music was great however.

I would like to say that the artist, performance and overall entertainment was fantastic; however, the venue location pales in comparison to Overton Park and Levitt Shell. At the Shell, you can really enjoy the performance without the distraction of Beale Street and its surroundings. In addition, the grassy knoll of Overton Park looking down at the Shell is more relaxing and romantic; the epitome of Smooth Jazz

This one time event was moved to another venue with no notification, and one that was not as family friendly. I know that this was due to weather, but we were very disappointed.
