Open Door Mission, Omaha58 reviewsAbout Open Door Mission
Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that traces its roots back to 1954, when an influx of railroad workers contributed to a stark, sudden rise in homelessness in Omaha. Pastor Jerry Dunn opened the original Open Door Mission on 13th and Douglas Streets to provide food and shelter for the workers. In the ensuing decades, the mission has grown into a multifaceted support system for those in the cycle of homelessness, providing food and shelter, personal and professional development programs, permanent housing, and outreach for women and families.
