About Bow Brickhill Stables

Bow Brickhill Stables takes its name from a village in Buckinghamshire, England, where owners John and Maxine Alexis used to ride horses over well-worn riding paths and through the neighboring woods. Now stateside, the married couple aims to create a fun and family-oriented atmosphere where riders as young as 5 can learn proper technique during lessons taught by Tik Maynard, an ex-member of the Canadian national team, and Ashley Pate, former equestrian Tar Heel at the University of North Carolina. They also host camp sessions throughout the year, during which youngsters learn tenets of horsemanship such as safety, horse care, and how to know when you’re looking at a gift horse’s mouth.
