Setting up shop inside Gilly’s Salon, stylist Mardi Palan helps strands lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle by introducing them to nontoxic, vegan products from Organic Salon Systems. Because these products contain no ammonia, sodium lauryl sulfates, or plastics, they carry no offensive chemical odors, allowing strands to breathe easy as they shed split ends or adopt a new vibrant hue. When not helping heads tap into their greener side, Mardi works as an apprentice to astrologer Emily Trinkaus, and uses this knowledge of the stars to dish out hair-o-scopes and identify compatible styles based on each follicle's unique birthdate.
