With three black belts to his name, certified personal trainer Gem Montes has spent more than 20 years helping clients tone their bodies. But Gem knows some mental obstacles cannot be overcome by exercise, so for the last 10 years he's also relied on a well-rounded approach to target the mind, body, and spirit and relieve internal strains. At ELM - Epiphany Life Management, the certified hypnotist works to help patients quit smoking, overcome insomnia, and work through stress. For his fellow athletes, Gem even focuses on issues of performance anxiety, such as fears that alley-oops will disappear into a black void that consumes all warmth and love.
