My daughter has been only goung for 2 days. A few things I do not like is the Art component. She is age 11 and the first day they did colouring sheets, the second day simple beading on string that broke, today she is scheduled to do painting which I assume will be simple painting and no techniqus. I would expect at this age and for the price they would be doing things like tie dye etc. Also, for swimming she just does laps 40 laps each day. I have no problem with that but I would like to see some games as well, as just laps gets pretty boring. She has come home complaining about both the art and swimming every day.
The best kept secret in Richmond. We'll be back! Nice facility, clean, great instructors, love the swimming class.
The sports program there is excellent quality and the swimming lessons are a lot more challenging and serious than those found in the community centres. Thanks!
They dont do much communicating with the parents. In terms on how your child did for the day.
You have excellent facilities and your staff is friendly and helpful.
in terms of traveling, the location was a little far but the wayland sports experience this summer was amazing especially swimming. They are the best because the coaches are very experienced and well trained. my kids definitely benefited.
Gymnastics was great- good instructors & lots of interesting games & activities.
Swimming "camp" on the other hand was more like a bootcamp. Nothing but lap after lap for 1 hour! "Instructors", if you can call them that as they weren't even in the pool, need to take some courses on how to make learning fun & interesting. Walking on the pool deck giving occasional instructions is not exactly engaging & memorable for the kids. And hey, maybe a smile or 2 would help break the monotony of 60 minutes of laps. Not a good experience for a 6 year old who loves to swim.
Gymnastics program was average. Swimming program below average. Some facilitators cannot speak English
