Overall I had a great time and would do this again. It was a little different than I expected, but I liked the variety of obstacles (ie - river, mud hill, stairs, etc). The only improvements I would suggest is a little bit better marking of the trail. Several groups of people turned this 5K into a 7K due to all the back tracking from unclear markings. Also some of the trails were more like deer runs and very difficult for tall or heavier people to get through. Being on such a narrow "path" exposed us to ticks and poison ivy/oak, which would definitely stop me from coming back if I ended up getting that from a run. A water station or two through the run would have been awesome. I didn't bring my own water, as I assumed there would be some along the way. I still enjoyed the run very much and will do it again, I'm just trying to make suggestions so it may appeal to more people. I also thought the pasta salad was an excellent end to the run. Overall, very good. See you next year!

Be honest with what you are hosting. Explain that the course is unmanned - and that no first aid or water will be made available. Explain that it is a loosely run event - no chip timers, and that you do not have permission from local authorities to run the course as laid out. Run at your own risk! Please respect that foul language isn't appreciated at a public event by many people (especially when you have a childrens fun run at the same time)
