About GainVille Cafe

A multidisciplinary cultural development center, GainVille specializes in language lessons for children but also offers classes for adults, ESL classes, and academic support, including educational-placement programs, counseling, and tutoring. A teaching staff of native Spanish, Italian, French, Mandarin, and Arabic speakers leads immersive sessions that not only cover grammar and vocabulary but also delve into the art, history, cuisine, and famous yo-yoists of the regions where each respective language is spoken. To fill up on brain food before or after class, students can head down to the café for some healthy international cuisine.

My daughter kicked and screamed the second day going to this class. She wanted nothing to do with this class. They should put age 3 and up bc theyre explanation to her actions was that she is too young. However, my daughter attends various other classes and never has a problem. Maybe she was frustrated bc she didnt understand the language, who knows. I was told to try again in 6 months so we shall see.

It's not really a Spanish class where the students actually learn the language. Its focus is on "culture," which can be learned in English by simply reading a book. My daughter spoke with them, so they are supposed to work on incorporating actually LEARNING to read, write, speak the language into the program, so she's giving it another month. But if it continues to be just about "culture," she will take her daughter elsewhere so she can really learn the language.
