My companion was unwell; the merchant was entirely empathetic to her situation. My favorite tea place which I sadly believe to have closed.

Service was great. I'm a chef and the food is real, made with real ingredients you can taste. My freinds devour the motor loaf, I want the recipe. Tea was fresh and fragrant, atmosphere is charming. I go every year for my birthday with friends. I live in the East Bay but I love to make a day of it in the city. 5 stars for a small family owned business. Don't stop what your doing.

i brought my 15 year old daughter to tal-y-tara and she loved it, as did i. everything from the tea to the salads to the motorloaf sandwiches were excellent. the scones were delicious and homemade i think fresh that day. so good. we were there mid morning during the week, so it was very quiet, a perfect time to go. we just had a lovely morning there, and will be back for sure.
