Reed Painting Company, Seattle
Reed Painting Company, SeattleAbout Reed Painting Company
Randy Reed is trying to make a difference one gallon of paint at a time. In 2010, his business Reed Painting Company developed Green Man Paint, a program designed to keep paint out of landfills while simultaneously making the greater Seattle community greener. Through that initiative, Reed Painting Company recycles unused paint and then donates all of it to non-profits, urban beautification projects, and arts organizations. In 2011, the efforts netted the company Sustainable Seattle's Innovator in Sustainability Award.
That was a defining moment for the company, but it's still the day-to-day work with locals that keeps Reed Painting Company at their best. Licensed painters head out to home sites each day, where they work on interiors and exteriors and apply their own custom system of primers, sealants, and paints. There's also a team to tackle dirty windows and clogged gutters, as well as carpenters who can help with wood rot and handyman services and are shining examples of how to properly wear a tool belt.
