About Art Classes For You

To create a fruitful learning environment, the instructors at Art Classes For You interact one-on-one with their pencil-wielding protégés, moving at the pace most comfortable for each individual student. Every week, small groups of adults and children gather to work on an array of art concepts, such as positive and negative space, contour line drawing, shading, and tonal values. Most importantly, instructors encourage students to look at their own work from a critical perspective, understanding their personal tendencies and recognizing bad habits, such as drawing on classmates’ backs instead of pieces of paper. Group lessons are limited to 10 students, and private lessons are available.

The instructor has helpful, constructive tips to share with artists whatever level they are at. Both my daughters have been challenged and are enjoying her class.

I am completely new, so this was a good way for me to realize what specifically about art I wanted look more into. I realize I did not want this slower pace one, but I learned a lot just from the first class, about values and such.

Only one visit, but seems like a good way to learn the fundamentals of drawing.

The class was basically studens sat individually drawing with pencils on their own. There was no interaction with the teacher until right at the end. It was un stimulating and un interactive. As a teacher myself I was very disappointed in the lack on group interaction, student centered learning or feedback throughout the class. A very limited learning experience. Would not recommend.
