About Bartending Academy of Tuscon

There’s always a need for good bartenders, and since 2000, the Bartending Academy of Tucson has done its part in satisfying that demand. A state-licensed learning facility, the academy pours mixing know-how into the minds of its students inside an interactive classroom—an actual, working bar. Here, instructors give students hands-on experience concocting a range of traditional and modern drinks, taking their cue from Ernest Hemingway’s short-lived high-school teaching career. For students who graduate from the two-week professional-bartending class, the academy provides placement assistance throughout the Tucson area.

Have one of each learned drinks be real alcohol and be able to drink them. As you practice making the others.

My husband and I enjoyed the first part of the class (martinis, manhattans, cosmopolitans), and it was fun to 'practice' making drinks. Our second instructor was especially good. We didn't particularly like that we were part (not really) of an ongoing class. We left at half-time, as we were not interested in the second half. I would recommend the class, but I think half would be perfect!

this was fun but could have been super fun. I'd suggest directing it more to home bartenders--no need to calibrate pouring with a spout for example. Charge a bit more and have tasting--I really wanted to taste the difference among various drinks. or have a deal just to have folks 'grade' the learning bartenders on tastes of real drinks.

You just get put in whatever class they have scheduled. When I asked the professional liquor and drink questions, they were not sure of the answers. People left through out the class. Waste of money. Didn't learn anything. Not very professional.
