One of the most notable features is the New Spain Art Collection, which boasts over 150 pieces from the New Spain period (1521 to 1820). Marvel at unique art forms like and gilded estofado sculpturesshimmering enconchados, and a detailed model of the Manila Galleon Isabella, which showcases the crucial role it played in transporting art and goods along trade routes from Manila to Acapulco. This historical exhibit gives visitors a glimpse into life aboard these monumental ships, adding an extra layer of cultural depth to the museum’s offerings.
The adventure continues outdoors on the Dino Walk, where 19 life-size dinosaurs and Ice Age giants bring history to life. Kids will love the hands-on fossil dig stations, while everyone can enjoy the tranquil pollinator garden. The Juan Infante International Hall is home to exotic taxidermy displays from around the globe, including Africa, Asia, and North America. About Bandera Natural History & Art Museum
Bandera Natural History Museum exists today because of one man's vision. The museum's founder Juan Carlos Infante dreamed about creating a place where people of all ages and backgrounds could learn about the diversity of the Earth's wildlife. The venue was established in 2011 under the name of Bandera Exotic Wildlife Museum. Within a few years it turned into a 14,000-square-foot building covering the area of eight acres and featuring dozens of exhibits. In 2015 its name was changed to the current one. The museum is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to educate the visitors on the abundance of the natural world and the importance of its conservation.
