Beyond The Mountain Brewing Company has emerged out of love of artisanal beer and live music. The founders – two lifelong friends, Charles Hixon and Morgan Way – had dreamed of owning a brewery that cultivated the spirit of craft beer and improvisational music, especially rock and bluegrass. The concept of creative improvisation and constant innovation is reflected in the brewery's focus on one-off and seasonal beers. Some of them are even brewed in collaboration with both local and nationally-touring bands, and proceeds from these batches go to charity of the artists' choosing.
