This tour covers all seven caves carved into La Jolla's golden sandstone cliffs—Sunny Jim's, Arch, Clam's, White Lady, Little Sister, Shopping Cart, and Sea Surprize. Each one looks a little different depending on the tide and light: some open wide and echo, others hide behind curtains of kelp. Sunny Jim's is the only cave you can also reach by land, through a century-old tunnel that's part history, part workout. Clam's Cave is the one visible from shore, often framed by a few lazy sea lions. Out on the water, the rest appear in sequence like a slow reveal—arches, folds, and streaks of color showing how wind and waves have been shaping this coast for ages.
