Many graveyards have an impressive history, but even by those standards, Christ Church Burial Ground stands out. Not only is it the final resting place of Benjamin Franklin, it also contains four other signers of the Declaration of Independence and markers pointing out the sites of some of the country's earliest leaders. All in all, the two-acre plot contains 300 years of history, 1,400 markers, and an estimated 3,000 more grave sites whose markers have disappeared due to erosion and time.
