The tour’s double-decker buses stop at 22 iconic DC sites, including the White House, the Air & Space Museum, and the US Botanical Gardens. En route, guides’ live narration helps explain the importance of these sites.

Tour tickets are valid from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and buses run roughly every 40 minutes.

DC Trails

If the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument love meeting new people, the team behind DC Trails is officially on the trio's good side. The company's glass-topped double decker buses stop at all three landmarks, as well as 19 others, during hop-on, hop-off bus tours.

Riders hop off to see sites steeped in American history, but the reasons to hop on are compelling, too. The air-conditioned and heated buses play live narration from expert guides, which helps riders contextualize what they're seeing, and avoid mistaking the White House for just another white house. That narration aids riders on other tours, too, whether they're taking an all-day tour of the city, or getting ferried across the Potomac River to Mount Vernon, George Washington's one-time home.

Customer Reviews

We had a great tour guide who made the experience totally awesome! I would suggest staying on the bus for the whole tour to learn a lot about the sites. It is a great way to see the sites in DC without driving or worrying about parking!

This was the best way to travel around all the monuments downtown. Their route hits all the good stuff, and their drivers are talented at redirection if a road is blocked due to protesting or motorcade or car accident. We did have to wait at one of the stops a bit long, they could do a better job of spacing them out - perhaps due to traffic/road closings they were backed up or something. Really nice bus, really wonderful day.
