A Guide to Gameday at Capital One Arena

  • Reserve your parking spot: There are more than 15 lots around Capital One Arena, but parking is still limited. Through their partnership with SpotHero, the Wizards allow you to make online parking reservations for the lots, garages, and valets near the stadium. You can either print your parking pass at home, or you can present it on your smartphone when you arrive.

  • Ride the rails: Metro provides the easiest way to reach Capital One Arena—in fact, it’s conveniently located right underneath the stadium. To avoid the bulk of the crowd altogether, though, you should utilize the various Metrorail stations in the vicinity, including Metro Center, Judiciary Square, and Archives.

  • Share your experience: The Wizards went ahead and created pre-determined hashtags for each possible matchup at Capital One Arena. Using those hashtags on social media works in your favor in two ways: it lets the team know how your experience is going, and it also helps you uncover in-game news and updates quicker.

About Washington Wizards

Although the Washington Wizards have changed monikers four times since their founding—they’ve previously played under the banner of the Packers, Zephyrs, and Bullets, the latter of which took home the 1978 Pro Basketball World Championship—the franchise has conjured slam dunks in Washington for more than three decades. Several former players have been named among the league's 50 greatest, leaving a mark as indelible as the fake beard superglued to Merlin's face. Today, throngs of up to 20,000 fans gather at the Capital One Arena to cheer on the team swathed in their iconic red, white, and blue uniforms.
