Very interesting museum, many displays and lots of information! Loved getting up close to the aircraft outside and enjoyed watching planes land from the tower!

I'm writing 5 stars because I don't have anything negative to say about this place. It's small and kinda boring, but it's still a really cool small museum.

The video film was excellent. But it needs to have a quiet room as everything going on in the hall made it hard to hear. Also need more exhibits in the bldg as lots of stairs and not much to see on some floors Would also like to see exhibits as to how the airport was lad out, ie where were ticket booths, car rental if there was any, luggage drop etc. such a beautiful bldg should have its own story to tell!

About Kansas Aviation Museum

The main goal of Kansas Aviation Museum is to inspire and preserve a community drawn together by its love of aviation, to commemorate how Wichita and Kansas helped shape aerospace development, and provide education that not only celebrates the past but encourages the future for aviation. Built within the 1935 art-deco-styled Wichita Municipal Airport, the museum houses an eclectic array of historic aircraft and artifacts. The museum had on display of more than a dozen aircraft in its ramp as well as inside, including the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, and a rare Beech Starship, the first all composite aircraft. Aviation enthusiasts can study their evolution, from the earliest aircraft engines all the way to the latest jet turbines; inspect an Allison J-35 off a 1948 Republic F-84C Thunderjet or marvel at the museum's oldest engine, a pre-WWI four-cylinder Kemp. There is also an exciting place for children young and old in the Boeing: Science, History, and Math Learning Center complete with computer simulators, steam activities as well as the Lattner Hangar with an indoor playset, books, and much more!
