iamie Wine Cellars is the result of a unique collaboration between Aram Deirmenjian and Greg Johnson, two friends who bonded over a shared passion for wine while living in New York City. Their partnership bridges two distinct worlds: Aram provides the viticultural foundation, having grown up working his family's vineyards, while Greg brings a refined perspective shaped by his family’s New York real estate legacy and years in high-end wine retail. Together, they realized their dream of establishing a boutique winery in Paso Robles, named "Kiamie" in honor of Greg’s mother’s maiden name.
Stepping onto the property, it’s immediately clear that Kiamie eschews a "corporate" feel in favor of a rustic, authentic atmosphere. Visitors are often greeted not just by the owner or winemaker, but by a lively cast of resident goats and dogs that give the estate its personality. During a tasting, the experience is deeply intimate; it’s not uncommon for the owners to share the rich history of the area while escaping the heat in their cozy tasting room.
