About Manatawny Still Works
"The place we meet to drink." That's the translation of Manatawny, or Man'en'tau'wata'wik, a Lenape word for the creek near modern day Pottstown. Today, Manatawny Still Works takes their name literally, crafting handmade spirits in its history-rich location. "Our spirits are born out of the reverence for history and the marriage of careful craftsmanship, quality ingredients and high tech, twenty-first century equipment," share the owners on MSW's website. Find our what happens behind the barrels - it's an in depth look at our fermentation and distillation processes, the barrel maturation techniques, and a little local history while you're here.
Here's a quick look at a few of Manatawny's spirits you might find in the tasting room:
Keystone Whiskey: This decadent spirit's mash bill consist of malt, wheat, oats, and rye and boasts a complex, but a mildly sweet character and a pleasant finish.
J. Potts Whiskey: This white whiskey takes it's name from pioneer iron master and founder of Pottstown, John Potts. The unique mash bill for this un-aged whiskey has been awarded several national accolades including a Gold Medal from the 2015 MicroLiquor Spirit Awards and a Double Gold Medal from TheFiftyBest.com
Three Bitches Wheat Vodka: Three adorable dogs grace the label of this cheekily named vodka known for its smooth, crisp flavors and its proceeds toward The Piper Project, which supports rescue dogs like the distillery's helper dog Piper. (80 Proof)
