Unless you specifically asked, the crew didn't offer much info about the area or wildlife; we stopped once to see seals and sea lions and learned a little; otherwise it was a boat ride and honestly, the crew just seemed 'over it' and tired of tourists. No whale sightings.

We were hoping to see the whales up more close. We saw only 3 orcas and 1 humpback whale in our trip, nothing to go against the tour guys, they tried their best to locate the whales. May be September is not the best time for whale watching.

Trevor and Dana were great and very informative. They had great personalities and appeared to be passionate about their tasks. The captain was great and gave us a smooth boat ride. We saw the San Juan islands, and had great views of the orcas. We would definitely book this enjoywatch again.

About Orcas Wild

Orcas sit at the absolute top of the food chain, causing even sharks to rattle in their fins whenever they’re near one. There’s a lot more to these fascinating creatures than their status as apex predators, though, and Orcas WILD is on a mission to make sure people know that. That’s why they’ve worked alongside non-profit organizations to put together an assortment of interactive exhibits and installments that educate the public on the fascinating lifestyles, habitats, and Netflix preferences of those incredibly huge and intelligent sea mammals. Of course, whales aren't the only stars of the show at the learning center—the exhibits also cover marine life, sea birds, environmental stewardship, and other topics related to the local waters.

But the most interactive experience at Orcas WILD isn’t found in any of the exhibits at the on-land wildlife institute—it’s found in the seas themselves. The organization’s naturalist staff regularly lead boat, kayaking, and walking tours to Patos Island, Skull Island, Matia, and other sites that often provide up-close views of the area’s vibrant animals and wildlife, including the namesake whales.
