About Do Good Spirits
Despite being in the business of booze, the founders of Prohibition Distillery are sort of grateful that the 18th amendment happened. The way they see it, the legislation both encouraged and expedited liquor production, laying the groundwork for an industry strangely bolstered by its suppression. But Prohibition is just a small part of a great history honored by the distillery. Read on to learn more about how the past still plays a role at Prohibition Distillery.
The Booze: Prohibition Distillery produces three spirits—Bootlegger 21 Vodka, Bootlegger 21 Gin, and Bootlegger 21 Bourbon—by revisiting traditional methods and standards. The Bootlegger 21 Vodka, for instance, has no smell thanks to a 24-hour charcoal-filtration process. The Bootlegger 21 Gin is inspired by classic London recipes, and the Bootlegger 21 Bourbon is distilled in pot stills.
The Distillery: The 1929 building that houses it has long been integral to the community, serving at different times as a firehouse, a gymnasium, and a shooting range.
The Barrelhouse: Next door to the distillery, bourbon ages in a space formerly used as a VFW post.
The Logo: Prohibition's intricate seal combines two time-honored symbols: the poppy flower and the Florian cross. The former is inspired by remembrance poppies, used to commemorate fallen soldiers across the globe since WWI, while the latter is another show of respect to the firemen who once inhabited the distillery.
