I am a lot more than just a support person or a pregnancy coach for your pregnancy. As an actively practicing, licensed Board Certified Nurse-Midwife with a Master of Science Degree in Midwifery, I am a pregnancy expert. I am able to answer any medical pregnancy questions that you may have, and provide feedback on any test results you receive in your pregnancy. I am able to facilitate decision making as you decide on your plan of care for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.

As your personal pregnancy coach, I am here to support you each step of the way. I will help you identify goals for yourself in your pregnancy and birth, recognize any obstacles you may encounter, and help you lay out a plan to achieve your goals.

I combine my Board Certification in Nurse-Midwifery with my Advanced Diploma in Life Coaching to achieve optimal results with The Pregnancy Coach Program.

Have you ever left your health care provider's office and just wished they had more time to talk to you about what is happening in your pregnancy? Do you ever leave feeling as though all your questions were not adequately addressed? Do you wish somebody had more time to let you discuss what is worrying you in your pregnancy? Do you wish someone could clarify in detail what your lab tests mean, what your different options are with those test results? How about identifying your goals for your birth and making decisions on what you would want, such as wanting to birth without an epidural, or planning to use as much medication as possible?

This is where I come in. This is where The Pregnancy Coach Program comes in!

Research has shown that adequate labor support decreases epidural use, improves outcomes and maternal satisfaction of the process is improved. But why should support be restricted and confined to labor? Why should support not start in pregnancy?

This is where The Pregnancy Coach Program starts! We don't wait for labor to start supporting you, we start our support as soon as you sign up for our program DURING your pregnancy!

I do NOT provide any emergency services or support. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, you need to immediately call 911, contact your pregnancy care provider, or present yourself to your nearest Emergency Room.

About The Informative Midwife

My name is Carol Rademeyer, and I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I have attended thousands of births, and this is why I know what works well in labor, but this is also why I know what does not work well in labor. And that is fear. There is no doubt among countless childbirth experts that women who are fearful of their birth experience do experience more pain in labor and seem to have greater difficulty birthing their baby. Thanks to the research and observations by Dr Jonathan Dye and Dr Grantley Dick-Read, they observed that women who were more fearful of their birth experienced more pain in labor. Conversely, women who were not afraid seemed to birth more easily. This lead to our understanding of the fear-tension-pain-cycle. From this grew our understanding of the impact our "stress" hormones can have on our "labor" hormones, and their ability to slow down and even halt labor. From this valuable research sprang up countless child birthing education strategies and ideologies to help prepare women for their birth. The idea that a woman who is well prepared for her birth is the foundation of any childbirth education program. Traditionally most childbirth education classes have been provided in a generic platform Couples attend a childbirth class where they sit and listen to a presenter imparting information, typically about the physical process of labor. Over my career I have worked with women who have doubts of their upcoming birth and sometimes even fear. It is common to encounter first time moms who doubt themselves and their ability to birth their baby. This does cause worry and anxiety for these women. I have developed strategies with these women that became valuable tools for them in their birth, and I was able to witness first hand their birth success as they were able to achieve a fearless birth. I realized I could create a childbirth program that was unique in combining childbirth education with fear reduction. If we could remove any existing fears/self doubts and replace them with positive emotions and thoughts specific and unique to that woman, we stop the fear-tension-pain-cycle from starting. My Philosophy: Every women deserves a birth that is empowering and is free of fear, and it is possible for every woman to experience this. Meeting your baby for the very first time is one of the most important days of your life, and you deserve for that moment to be full of joy and free from fear. For these reasons, The Informative Midwife developed The Fearless Birth Program™ to help every woman achieve that goal. My career: My midwifery career started in South Africa where I delivered my first baby in 1997, and continued my practice there. After moving to the USA with my husband, I completed my Master of Science degree in Midwifery through Philadelphia University. I am currently board certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), and I have been in full scope midwifery practice in the USA since in 2008. I remain as passionate today as the first day to help women achieve the birth that they want.
