About Road Runner Sports

In 1983, Michael Gotfredson started up Road Runner Sports in a humble garage space in Del Mar. In those days, Mike and his tightly knit staff learned the value of teamwork as they hustled between the selling floor and the warehouse, pitched in to help with inventory, and counseled aspiring runners to use their feet instead of their hands. Today, the company continues to embody that "all-for-one" philosophy. Road Runner Sports now has neighborhood retail stores across the United States and sponsors a number of fitness-oriented activities, including 5Ks and half marathons.
