About Scottsdale Fahrenheit Festival

On June 26, 1990, the city of Phoenix battled temperatures that soared up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the hottest day in the city's history. On Saturday, June 16th at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Beat the Heat, describing themselves as "The hottest race on Earth", celebrates this epic heatwave by challenging runners to compete in 10.22 or 5K races during one of the hottest times of the day. The race begins at 2:47 p.m., the exact moment thermometers hit 122 and all the world's snowmen agreed never to visit Arizona. Runners who complete the sweat-inducing challenge that runs through WestWorld and around its arenas can cool themselves off by drinking beverages at The Arizona Ales & Cocktails Festival that features top mixologists and craft beers. Fans can also watch an over-the-top arm wrestling tournament featuring world champion Travis Bagent and world-class competitors.

It was OK and the race was really good but it didn't live up to the hype from their e-mails

It’s a nice course but pre or post refreshments are not existing! If we would have ran in 110 degrees, a cup of water at finish... seriously?!?! Yes, aid stations are on course with water and towels.. but still!!
