Choose your method for sightseeing in San Antonio with a curated list of the best tours and sights to see. From river cruises to museums, let us guide you through your next trip. Here are a few of our favorites:
McNay Art Museum: Founded in 1954 (which makes it the first modern art museum in the state of Texas), this museum has expanded to feature more than 20,000 works. The McNay Art Museum covers a wide breadth of artistic periods, including medieval and Renaissance art, 19th through the 21st century European and American paintings, photographs, and sculptures, as well as one of the finest collections of prints and drawings in the Southwest. It’s a wonderful place to spend the day and is sure to spark the artistic imagination of every visitor.
The Buckhorn Museum & Saloon and Texas Ranger Museum: In Texas even the tourist traps come bigger. This saloon actually contains two museums: The Buckthorn museum and The Texas Ranger Museum. Both have their own kitschy charm; The Buckthorn Museum is a taxidermy wonderland, featuring more than 520 species of wildlife including the famous 78 Point Buck, while the Texas Ranger Museum houses hundreds of Texas Ranger artifacts, as well as a recreation of turn-of-the-century San Antonio. The Saloon itself is sort of a historical curio, as the original was founded in 1881.
