Choice of Sewing Class: Learn the Basics, Working with Patterns, Alterations, and More
Learn how to use your sewing machine and construct your first garments at the Agee Fashion Institute, where classes are limited to 10 to 12 students so you can benefit from individualized instruction and guidance:
• $40 ($80 value) for a Basic Sewing class
• $75 ($155 value) for three classes: Basic Sewing, Working with Commercial Patterns, and Beginners Garment
• $80 ($189 value) for two classes: Basics Sewing and Alterations for Beginners
• $288 ($473 value) for a Sew-A-Thon, eight day class program
The Basic Sewing class is a two-day program, consisting of a two-hour class each day. Perfect for novices, you'll learn sewing terminology, the purpose of notions, all about fabrics, and how to use your sewing machine.
Working with Commercial Patterns is a 90-minute class that covers writing reading and interpretting easy patterns and how to ensure a perfect fit.
In the two-hour Beginners Garment course, you will sew a straight skirt with a zip-back closure, two darts, a buttonhole, and a basic waistband using a provided pattern -- just bring your own fabric and notions.
Sometimes a fit isn't perfect, which is why the three-hour Alterations for Beginners course teaches you how to alter basic pant and skirt hems, pant tapers, and skirt tapers.
Take Note: A Kit Fee will need to be purchased from Agee Fashion Institute prior to class start date. Askfor details when you call to redeem your voucher.
