Before bringing the greatest British secret agent back to the big screen last fall, playwright John Logan tackled a superstar of an entirely different medium -- legendary painter Mark Rothko. This season, THEATREWORKS brings his Tony Award-winning play, "Red," to life alongside the Ibsen classic, "The Wild Duck:"
• $20 ($40 value) for one matinee ticket to "Red" or "The Wild Duck"
• $60 ($180 value) for four matinee tickets to "Red" or "The Wild Duck"
• Comes with one non-alcoholic drink per ticket holder
• Shows run Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Saturday afternoon
Two Celebrated Classics on One Stage
Since 1975, THEATREWORKS has entertained, educated, and stimulated the Pikes Peak region with classical and contemporary productions -- this season carries on the tradition. Tony Award-winner "Red," running January 31 to February 17, takes us directly into the late-1950s studio of Rothko, a man considered one of the greatest painters of the 20th century. After accepting an assignment of career-making significance, we watch as he rages and questions the very meaning and purpose of art in this action play of ideals colliding with passion. Henrik Ibsen's "The Wild Duck," running April 25 to May 12, is a tale of classic suspense and family drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Both shows take place at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater on Regent Circle.
