pros: We loved the "casita" feel of the room as well as the walking distance to both the pool and the restaurants.

Overall, the Camelback Inn is nice and a good bargain for what we paid xxx night). The motif was also spot on and made us feel like we were definitely in Arizona - overall a nice touch. We did not enjoy the first encounter with the front desk clerk who just made us feel like we were out of place. His insistence on following a script and unnatural smiles in between made us feel uncomfortable. Two other front desk staff seemed to be laughing, which made me feel like they were toying with our first introduction there. The bellhops also follow this introductory script. There was an issue in which Priceline reported an incorrect name to the hotel for our reservation and for the entire stay we were referred to by this mixed up name, despite our protest that it was an error. In the end, we laughed about it and just went by the new name to save time. The pool is open 24 hours a day and is nice, but is a saline pool which did not mix well with our sun screen and did cause some irritation in the eyes. For those interested, make sure to be aware of that ahead of time. There are two kinds of rooms: ones with updated decor, and those without. We initially had an updated room but had to relocate to an older one because of some technical difficulties. For the inconvenience, we were given a voucher for dinner at the Rita's restaurant which served very delicious food in a very beautiful outdoor setting. There was live music as well and the band played some eclectic hits. One staff member (Walter) stood out above the rest as a genuinely good guy who had our best interests in mind. He helped us when we transitioned to the other room and overall, it seems that staff are welcome to helping you move baggage around on golf carts if you so choose. Finally, each room has a patio that is nice and if you're in the upgraded rooms, the patios feel somewhat more private. If you are looking to stay here, be sure to ask for the rooms with the updated decor. It will definitely be worth it!
pros: The location is great and the view is very nice. Everything is very close as far as being able to just drive to different places. Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe are located within 20 mins in any direction of each other, so bring a car. Pool was nice, too.
cons: The front-desk clerk was extremely creepy and both he and the bellhops seem to run like robots on a script. They'll smile at you in a very weird way. Unnatural. We had an issue with our room that needed service, and those staff were awesome though.
